Despite the freezing weather and snowy conditions staff and pupils made it in to school – in fancy dress- to celebrate World Book Day!
It was a busy and bookish day. Parents were invited to come into school in the morning to share a story with their child before we had a special assembly to launch the day and have a look at everyone’s costumes.
Pupils also bought in all unwanted books from home to add to the school library and these donations will be matched by Anthology (the company redeveloping in Hale Village) who will donate the same number of new books to our growing library. Thank you Anthology!
Every year group took part in a different activity –
Yr 1- The Day the Crayons Quit Writing Letters to crayons
Yr 2 – Aladdin Writing our own wishes on magic lamps
Yr 3- Mr Fox Mr Fox portraits using unrealistic colours
Yr 4- James and the Giant Peach Designing a Dahl-ian drink!
Yr 5- BFG Making Dream Catchers
Yr 6 – Aesop’s Fables Wall plaques with morals
It was a really fun day and ended with guest readers coming into the classrooms to read a story – from our site manager Mr White to Father Andrew from the Engine Room.
Thanks to everyone for making it such a special day…

Key Stage 2 delved into history and geography today during the virtual reality workshops presented by Lucia @primevruk. Thank you for bringing the Romans and Vikings to life and for giving us the chance to travel the globe, exploring the impact of climate change. pic.twitter.com/StOz…
