Floating Gardens

Science Challenge

All classes in Ferry Lane are taking part in a Floating Garden Science Challenge this week.  They have been looking at the problems with flooding that affects thousands of people every year in Bangladesh, and have been exploring solutions that will help combat the issue of flooded crops.
Children will be using different materials to create a platform for a floating garden, with the winning design determined by the weight of soil (crops) it can hold.
Classes will be taking part in this throughout the course of the week and winning gardens will be displayed in our Science Celebration Assembly on Friday.

Year 5 have been designing outdoor shelters for guinea pigs. They explored the properties of different materials and worked in teams-here are some of their fantastic creations.. Also, a big thank you to everyone who took part in our non-uniform charity fundraiser for PhabKids! pic.twitter.com/d4CA…
