Plastic Fishing

Year 6 Trip

Plastic Fishing

Year 6 visited The Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre this week to do some ‘plastic fishing.’

They learnt about the problems of plastic waste and the impact it is having on the environment and the marine life. They sailed in a boat called ‘Poly-Mer’ which is made entirely of plastic. During the trip year 6 fished 51 bottles out of the water as well as buckets full of other pieces of plastic waste. All this plastic will be used to build another boat.

Also, a big thank you to everyone who took part in our non-uniform charity fundraiser for PhabKids! pic.twitter.com/d4CA…
