WHO MAKES UP THE GOVERNING BODY?

The Governing Body meets 6 times a year and is made up of 13 people who all wish to ensure the school provides the best possible education for all of its pupils. Training is undergone to help them carry out this role.

THERE ARE TWO COMMITTEES

Curriculum and Standards Committee (C&S) which is responsible for monitoring the curriculum & the Resources Committee (R) which is responsible for overseeing the financial management, the premises, Health &Safety and personnel.

2.Holding the Headteacher to account by supporting and challenging them to deliver the school’s objectives.

REBECCA ANDERSON

LOCAL AUTHORITY, CHAIR

As Chair of Governors, my role is to work in partnership with the Head Teacher to drive school improvement.

I have spent my career to date working in public and third sector organisations, most recently in the major projects and commercial teams in the Cabinet Office.

I live on the Ferry Lane estate and spend my free time playing netball and baking.

VICKY LADIZHINSKAYA

CO-OPTED, FINANCE

Vicky has been a governor at Ferry Lane school for 8 years. She has helped Ferry Lane headteachers to look after the school money and its teachers. As well as being a governor, Vicky also works for the government making sure it saves money on buying laptops, tablets and other technology. Vicky is the mum of Dylan in Yr 3 and loves going on adventures with him around London.

STAFF, HEAD TEACHER

I once climbed to the summit of Mount Fuji. I have 4 brothers, 2 older and 2 younger than me.

DAVID CARPENTER

CO-OPTED, SEND & SAFEGUARDING

David Carpenter is a co-opted secondary school teacher of 26 years experience. He has taught in 4 inner city schools all with a high level of social and economic disadvantage.

MELONIE WILLIAMS

CO-OPTED, VICE CHAIR, BEHAVIOUR & SAFETY

I am a working musician and I also teach BA Creative performance. I have been lucky enough to play music in many wonderful countries
from Europe & America to the Far East. I enjoy travelling, reading, playing word games and shopping but my favourite thing by far is being a parent!

HEATHER CONNOR

ACTING DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER

I love music, particularly classical music and also love sport. When I was 10 I was in the school football team! I’m currently teaching myself to knit.

FERGUS MCKEOWN

FINANCIAL ADVISOR

I am Ferry Lane's biggest Chelsea fan but I am also pleased to see Spurs doing so well. I enjoy ten pin bowling but I am not quite as good as Ferry Lane's champion Mr Hall! I have worked with Ferry Lane for a number of years and the school holds a special place in my heart.

ANGELA COZIER

My name is Miss Cozier and I am a happy and cheerful person who absolutely loves music!

CATHERINE NICHOLLS

ASSOCIATE

I'm the Policy and Public Affairs Manager for Camelot (which runs The National Lottery), and have also been a political consultant, advised on communications and social media, managed events and started out as a paralegal.

ANDREAS ADAMIDES

CLERK

I have been a governor in the local area for many years. I was a chair of governors up until recently. Now I am delighted to be the clerk for Ferry Lane Primary School.

TOM SPENCER

CO-OPTED, CURRICULUM & COMMUNITY

I live on the Ferry Lane Estate and I enjoy playing football and cycling. I once travelled from St Pancras station and took trains all the way to Hong Kong. I enjoy going to work because I feeling like I'm helping people and I get to learn new things.

SADAF NASSIMI

PARENT GOVERNOR

My name is Sadaf Nassimi and I am the new parent governor. I love going on road trips with my family and have travelled to many different countries such as Turkey, Spain, Greece, Germany and many more; I also enjoy swimming and cooking.
